Our cabin is a bit higher than 4000 ft in elevation, which means we do get snow when there are storms, but we aren't buried in deep snow all winter! We are within a 10-15 minute drive to Big Trees, where you can go on a gentle hike in the snow and see the giant trees covered in snow. Rent snowshoes or cross-country ski stuff for a fun day!

A 15+ minute drive will get you to lots of sledding spots along Highway 4 (ask us!), about a 30 minute drive from the cabin will get you to
Bear Valley Ski Resort. Downhill, cross-country, snowmobiling, a sledding hill & tubing hill...and more. They keep Highway 4 plowed pretty well, but always carry chains in the wintertime.

We also recommend
Spicer Sno-Park, a State-operated park which is about 20 minutes away. Sledding hills, miles of cross-country or snowmobile trails. A great place to tunnel/play after a snowfall.

A few minutes from us is the Sierra Nevada Adventure Company, where you can rent all kinds of snow-related equipment, including snow-shoes, and cross-country ski stuff.
