Backroad Adventure Spots
Limestone Cave and Swimming Hole!

This 3/4-mile hike ends at the river, with the water flowing through several large slabs of marble, over an elongated rock garden. A rock canopy over the water has formed over thousands of years from lime deposits, and shades the pool from the sun. There are waterfalls throughout the enormous cave, and wonderous geological formations to look at as you float along in the darkness. Watch out...you may see bats up high! Along the hike to the cave there are picnic benches, and the bulk of the trail is shaded...but, you'll need to bring lots of water!  A bit steep in a few places, and isolated, but wonderful. Want to know more? A wonderful adventure about 30 minutes from our cabin...
