There is a lot more to Bearadise snow than just downhill ski fun...
Rent snowshoes for the day and hike around at a nearby SNO-park, Calaveras Big Trees Park, or just pull off Highway 4 and go explore...the local S.N.A.C. (Sierra Nevada Adventure Company) is a minute away, and can outfit you for about $12 per day (adult) and $6 (kids).
Rent snowboard equipment for the day...at about $29 for adults and $19 for kids, includes boots, boards and bindings. Stop at the nearby S.N.A.C. on your way to Bear Valley.
A S.N.A.C. is just a minute away, (a mere snowball throw in distance!) on Highway 4. Rent all kinds of snow equipment there. Call and make reservations 888-900-7622 or 209-795-9310. Ask them if you can pick up the equipment the afternoon before you need it! Beat the rush! Click here for their link!
Rent cross-country equipment... Cross-country and touring packages are available starting around $25 at SNAC. Bear Valley Cross Country also rents equipment for cc, snowshoeing, etc.
OK, downhill ski stuff is available, too!
Back to first page of winter fun
Nordic skiing: There are also miles of marked trails available for cross-country and snow-shoe, as well as off-highway vehicle and snowmobile use. See the Stanislaus National Forest Nordic Skiing page, or contact the Calaveras Ranger District.
And snowmobile rentals are available at Spicer, Ebbetts Pass and Bear Valley locations.
Also minutes away from the cabin, on Highway 4, Ebbetts Pass Sporting Goods. They rent ski equipment, snow boarding, cross-country and more (great fishing and hunting resource, too). Click here for their link or call them at 209-795-1686
